  • Anxiety about the Unknown: Uncertainty about what therapy involves and how it works can be daunting.

  • Concerns About Vulnerability: Feeling uncomfortable opening up to a stranger and discussing personal issues.

  • Financial Worries: Concerns about the cost of therapy and whether insurance will cover it.

  • Time Constraints: Busy schedules and the perceived time commitment required for regular therapy sessions.

Signs that Therapy May be Helpful

Therapy can be a beneficial tool for many, and recognizing the signs that it may be helpful for you is crucial. Persistent Overwhelm is a key indicator, where you might feel consistently overwhelmed, anxious, or find it challenging to cope with daily stresses. If you're experiencing Changes in Mood or Behavior, such as significant alterations in how you feel or act, which are impacting your quality of life, it might be time to consider therapy. Another sign is Difficulty Processing Emotions, where you struggle to understand or manage your feelings effectively. The Impact on Relationships is also a telling sign; if you notice that your personal issues are negatively affecting your connections with others, therapy could provide the support you need. Lastly, if you are Seeking Personal Growth, such as wanting to understand yourself better, improve your self-esteem, or work towards personal goals, therapy can be an invaluable resource in your journey.

Is it awkward talking to a complete stranger?

Initially, it might feel awkward to open up to a therapist, a feeling that is quite common among first-time clients. However, most people find that this awkwardness fades quickly as:

  • Therapists are trained to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable.

  • As you progress, the therapist often becomes a trusted confidant.

  • The professional setting and the confidentiality of therapy help in easing into open conversations.

  • Therapy offers a unique opportunity to speak freely without the biases or influences of your personal life.

  • Overcoming this initial discomfort can be a part of the therapeutic process, leading to greater self-awareness and empowerment.

Who we work best with?

At our St. Pete therapy practice, we specialize in addressing various mental health concerns, including symptoms of anxiety, signs of depression, codependency issues and more. Our approach is particularly effective for certain types of individuals:

Open-minded Towards New Perspectives/Techniques: We often work best with those who are open to new ideas and techniques, which they might not have encountered before. Many of our clients have had several unsuccessful attempts at traditional therapy and may feel weary about trying again. We understand this hesitation. All we ask is for your willingness to try. Having an open mind and the readiness to embrace new approaches can lead to positive outcomes and long-lasting results.

Desire for Something Different/Deeper: Our practice is unique in offering a deeper, more meaningful therapeutic experience that leads to profound change. Clients who are drawn to us often crave this depth and are eager for change. They recognize that their current strategies aren't working and are open to exploring new avenues for improvement. These individuals are looking for our guidance in navigating these changes, no matter how big or small.

Patience with the Process: The journey to healing varies greatly from person to person, as everyone has their unique story and experiences. Additional information

Payments

We accept cash, all major credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

Insurance

We do not accept insurance. Here are the reasons why:

  • We are dedicated to ensuring privacy and flexibility and we can get started quickly without waiting for authorization from your insurance company.

  • Therapy can end when it feels right – not because additional sessions have not been authorized.

  • Insurance companies have access to your diagnosis and can request additional records in order to justify treatment which means your confidentiality is significantly reduced.

We are out-of-network providers.

We do, however, work with insurance companies out-of-network. Out-of-network services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. We recommend checking your coverage by asking the following questions of your insurance carrier:

Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been satisfied?

  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

Please note that only licensed providers can provider out-of-network receipts. Please confirm with your clinician if you need an out-of-network receipt.
