A Mental Health Professional Here For You

Pronouns: She / Her / Hers

Email: kate@bybsandthrive.com

In 2018, I graduated from USF with my Masters in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Marriage and Family Counseling. I began my work within the legal system providing therapy and integration services to individuals who were currently incarcerated or who had recently been incarcerated. This experience provided me a strong foundation for working with individuals who face a range of issues. Specifically, I spent time targeting to my therapy approach towards those who experienced extensive trauma and grief as well as family and relationship issues.

More recently and more commonly, I work with individuals who work within the legal system, Milllenial and Gen Z population (life-transitions), individuals who struggle with perfectionism and people-pleasing tendencies and individuals with disordered eating patterns and low confidence and self-esteem. Additionally, I work with couples who struggle to find ways to feel connected and need some extra support in navigating the ups and downs of relationships. I am passionate about approaching any of these groups from a holistic perspective, which includes examining the mind-body-spirit connection.

Counseling is a marathon, not a sprint, and I hope to be part of that journey for anyone who is willing and ready to do the work. We are all unique, which is why I believe that there are many ways to approach counseling and why we have more success when addressing a person as a whole. While I like to meet clients where they are mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, I will also push clients to explore themselves and confront that which keeps them stuck in dysfunctional patterns. Above all, I’m filled with gratitude when individuals and couples allow me into their lives and I’m even more in awe of the strength and resiliency I see from people every day…sometimes we just need helping tapping into that superpower and I’m happy to join you on that ride.
