Amanda's Story

Hey, I’m Amanda!

I am a graduate student at the University of South Florida (USF) in the Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program. I also received my Bachelors of Science at USF in Behavioral Healthcare with a Concentration in Children’s Mental Health and a Minor in Psychology.

My journey toward healing truly began when I found and embraced Eastern practices like meditation, mindfulness, yoga, and acupuncture alongside therapy. I have a strong passion for
holistic wellness, believing that true healing addresses the entirety of our being—mind, body, and spirit—rather than separating issues into separate domains. This is exactly why the opportunity to join this team excited me! The integration of holistic care
and mental health counseling resonates deeply with my personal and professional values. My dedication to this field stems from my own encounters with mental health challenges and adverse
experiences growing up. Holistic care and therapy have had a profound impact on my life, sparking a desire within me to support others on their journeys toward healing.

I am thrilled to join the BYBS team as Social Media Support, where I assist in creating content and enhancing our social media platforms. Promoting psychoeducation and raising awareness
about mental health is a passion of mine that is driven from my desire to contribute to reducing stigma surrounding mental health and therapy. Aligning myself with a practice that shares my
values and allows me to expand my experience in the field while collaborating and learning from this amazing team is a dream come true.

In my free time, I cherish moments spent with my boyfriend and our adorable Husky mix, Phoebe. I equally treasure the times I share with friends and family as well. I find joy in drawing,
painting, and reading fantasy novels where I can immerse myself in vibrant worlds of imagination. I also love graphic design and editing, channeling my passion for visual storytelling
into captivating projects that reflect my artistic side.

A fun fact about me is that I love to travel! One of my favorite destinations has been Glacier National Park in Montana. The breathtaking beauty of the forests and mountains brought me a
sense of peace I had never felt before. The cascading waterfalls, diverse wildlife, and challenging trails amidst Montana’s rugged terrain seemed to heal parts of me I can’t describe. Since then, I
have made it a priority in my life to spend time in nature and seek various trails here in St. Petersburg and Tampa. I especially enjoy visiting parks, beaches, and the pier, as well as strolling
through Downtown and exploring local coffee shops!

I'm excited to be here and hope to provide you all with high quality mental health education that
resonates with you!
