Genevieve May, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

An Inclusive Therapist Ready to Support You

Pronouns: She / Her / Hers

Hey there! I’m Genevieve. I graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Social Work (MSW) and a minor in religious studies. I specialize in treating obsessions and compulsive disorders, anxiety, chronic health conditions, and grief & loss. I also love helping guide people as they explore their spiritual identity and overcome religious trauma. I have seen much of people’s pain come from worry about the future, which is why I enjoy helping clients learn to live a mindful, present-focused life. I do this from a holistic approach, emphasizing the mind-body-spirit connection and natural, alternative ways of healing.

There is no “one size fits all approach” for therapy. When you come in, I will take the time to get to know you and understand you. I believe in blending therapeutic techniques to suit each individual’s needs and have specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I enjoy walking alongside clients and guiding them as they learn to accept themselves and find makes them feel joyful, whole and healthy.

I believe in a person-centered approach and that you are the expert on your own life. I am also proud to be an LGBTQIA+ affirmative, sex-positive therapist and I am here to support and guide you in exploring your gender identity and sexual orientation. I am also a proud provider of assessment and referral services for transgender and gender diverse clients seeking Gender Confirmation Surgery or Hormone Replacement Therapy to begin their medical transition process. I enjoy working with millennials, young adults/teens, and families. I truly hope we get the opportunity to work together, and for you to see that therapy is for everyone!
