Therapy & Counseling in Sarasota, FL

Specializing in out of network therapy for chronic illness, anxiety and trauma in Sarasota, Florida

You've Been Holding It Together for a Long Time. You Don't Have to Do That Here.

Maybe your body has been sending you signals you haven't had time to listen to. Maybe you've been managing — work, relationships, health stuff, the mental load of all of it — and the managing has become its own kind of exhaustion.

Or maybe something happened. Something that changed the way you move through the world, even if you can't always name it. And you've been trying to figure out how to feel like yourself again ever since.

Be Your Best Self & Thrive Counseling is now serving Sarasota, Florida — offering holistic, body-centered therapy for women and men who are ready to stop surviving and start actually living.

Our Sarasota therapist, Holly Case, M.A., specializes in the intersection of trauma, chronic illness, and burnout — three things that are far more connected than most people realize, and that require a different kind of care than traditional talk therapy alone.

In-person sessions are available at our Sarasota office. Online therapy is available to anyone throughout Florida.

Who Holly Works With

Holly works primarily with women — though her practice is open to all adults — who are in some version of survival mode. People who are smart, capable, and deeply committed to their wellbeing, but who are running a system that's been under too much stress for too long.

Her clients often describe feeling like they're doing everything right on the outside while something feels fundamentally off on the inside. Many have tried therapy before. Some have seen multiple doctors for physical symptoms that don't have a clear explanation. Others are navigating the aftermath of something that happened — a loss, a relationship, a period of their life they're still making sense of.

What they have in common is that they're ready for something deeper. Not just coping strategies — but real, lasting change at the level of the nervous system.

Holly's Approach to Therapy in Sarasota

Holly's work is integrative — meaning she draws from multiple approaches and tailors each session to what your system actually needs that day.

Somatic Therapy & Nervous System Regulation — the body holds what the mind can't always access. Holly uses body-based practices — breathwork, grounding, movement, and body awareness — to help your nervous system find safety. This isn't about relaxation techniques. It's about fundamentally changing your baseline so that stress, triggers, and difficult emotions don't run the show.

IFS-Informed Parts Work — Internal Family Systems (IFS) gives us a way to understand the different parts of you: the perfectionist, the people-pleaser, the part that shuts down, the part that pushes through no matter what. Rather than fighting these patterns, we get curious about them — understanding how they developed, what they've been protecting, and how they can begin to shift.

Trauma-Informed Care — every aspect of Holly's work is built on an understanding of how trauma affects the nervous system, the body, and the self. This means pacing that respects your window of tolerance, never pushing you further than your system is ready to go.

The Mind-Body-Chronic Illness Connection — Holly has a particular passion for the relationship between unresolved trauma and chronic illness. Research increasingly shows that the body's stress response — when chronically activated — contributes to inflammation, immune dysregulation, and a wide range of physical symptoms. Addressing the nervous system is often the missing piece for people who've been working hard on their physical health but still aren't feeling well.

CBT & DBT Tools — practical, evidence-based skills for managing anxiety, regulating emotions, and challenging the thought patterns that keep you stuck. These are woven in as needed alongside the deeper body-based work.

Meet Your Sarasota Therapist

Holly Case, M.A., RMHCI, NCC
Supervised by Jamie Molnar, LMHC

Holly is a trauma-informed, body-centered therapist with a specialty in the intersection of chronic illness and the nervous system — a niche she came to through her own lived experience. Before becoming a therapist, she found her own healing through somatic movement, breathwork, and body-based practices, and that path shaped everything about how she works.

Her style is warm, grounded, and genuinely collaborative. Clients often describe her space as the first place they've felt safe enough to slow down. She works with the full complexity of what you're carrying — not just the presenting problem, but the patterns underneath it — with deep respect for the pace your system needs to heal.

Holly holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Western Kentucky University and brings specialized training in IFS-informed parts work, somatic and body-based therapy, and embodiment facilitation. She sees clients in person at our Sarasota office and online throughout Florida.

What does Holly specialize in?

Holly specializes in trauma, chronic illness, burnout, and the nervous system — particularly the connection between unresolved stress or trauma and physical health. She works primarily with women but welcomes all adults. Her approach blends somatic therapy, IFS-informed parts work, and evidence-based tools like CBT and DBT.

Is Be Your Best Self & Thrive a good fit if I've tried therapy before and it didn't work?

Possibly — especially if past therapy felt like it was only scratching the surface. Many of Holly's clients have seen other therapists and felt like something was missing. A body-centered, nervous system approach often reaches the parts that traditional talk therapy doesn't.

What is somatic therapy and how is it different from regular talk therapy?

Somatic therapy brings the body into the therapeutic process. Rather than only talking about what happened or how you feel, somatic work attends to what's happening in your body — sensations, tension, breath, posture — and uses that as a doorway into healing. It's particularly effective for trauma and chronic stress, where the body holds what words alone can't fully process.

How much does therapy cost in Sarasota?

Sessions with Holly Case are $120 for 50 minutes. We are an out-of-pocket practice and provide superbills for possible insurance reimbursement. HSA and FSA cards accepted.

How is BYBS different from other therapy practices in Sarasota?

Be Your Best Self & Thrive brings a genuinely holistic, mind-body-spirit approach that's rare in this area. Holly's combination of somatic training, IFS-informed parts work, nervous system expertise, and lived experience with chronic illness creates a depth of care that's hard to find elsewhere in the Sarasota market.
