Community Engagement and Relations Intern
Pronouns: She / Her / Hers
Hi there! I’m so happy to share a little bit about myself, and hope to have the chance to do so with you as well.
I grew up in Annapolis, MD, right next to the U.S. Naval Academy. Here, my parents opened the doors of our home to the Academy’s Midshipmen through the sponsor program, where they slept on our couch, ate dinner with us, and withstood being chased around by my siblings and I.
As I grew older, I realized how much these relationships had influenced my love for connecting with people, eventually becoming the catalyst to my education in psychology at The University of Tampa.
With the interruption of my freshman year due to the pandemic, I deferred a semester and moved down to the Florida Keys, where I worked as a Behavioral Technician at an inpatient rehabilitation center.
Since then, integrating alternative therapeutic techniques into my studies has become a priority. I have observed and utilized art as a therapeutic intervention for vulnerable children, studied the detrimental effects of stress on the body and best-fit interventions, and immersed myself in mindfulness meditation practices.
After graduating a year early, I am excited to take the next year to learn, grow, and explore, prior to pursuing my Masters. Luckily for me, I have found an extremely talented team of people to do so with.
Here at BYBS, I am excited to focus on community outreach as we continue to connect, engage, and collaborate with like-minded businesses and people among the community of St. Pete. Additionally, I will be keeping our blog up to date with exciting new content (so be on the lookout!).
